Help Understanding your results
SEO overview
See what Google Search brought your own site in a period and which search recommendations to work on next.
SEO overview
Open SEO → Overview. The figures come from your brand’s Google Search Console: clicks, impressions and click-through rate for Google Search only. Visits from every channel stay in Traffic & results.
Choose 7, 28 or 90 days. Each period is compared with the same number of days just before it, and the dates of both windows are shown next to the selector. The source chip says up to which date Search Console data is available. When that date is more than seven days old, the chip says the update is overdue.
Without a Search Console connection the screen explains what is missing. Owners and Admins see Open Integrations; other roles see a note to ask them. Recommendations from the site audit and your business context keep working without it. See Integrations to connect. If access to Search Console is lost, a banner says up to which date the data is shown.
How to read the click tiles
Clicks from Google Search is the total for the period, with the previous period beside it. Non-branded clicks and Branded clicks split it by query type. A query is branded when it contains one of your brand names or your site domain. A query that names a competitor counts as non-branded. A query whose only brand evidence is an ambiguous word stays not classified. Clicks from queries not yet classified are noted under the branded tile. You can set a query’s class by hand on its page in Queries & pages.
Search Console does not disclose every query. The tile line Queries disclosed by Search Console cover … of clicks tells you how much of the total the query split covers. Click a tile to open Queries & pages with the matching filter.
Good to know A brand name that is also a common word does not make a query branded on its own. Add such names to Ambiguous words on the brand page; see Brand.
How to read the weekly chart
Clicks from Google Search by week shows weeks or months, and clicks, impressions or CTR. Markers on the chart show Google updates, important page changes, completed recommendations and, in the weekly view, weekly scans. A week or month with fewer than 50 impressions is marked and gives no conclusion.
Recommendations from search
Recommendations from search lists up to five open recommendations whose evidence includes Google Search data, with a link to all of them. Completed this iteration shows the ones finished recently. Each card opens the full recommendation; see Recommendations.
Some search signals wait instead of becoming recommendations. Expand the line under the list to see why, for example a Google update still in progress, Search Console history shorter than the comparison period, a page closed from search intentionally, or the limit of five new search recommendations at a time.
Google updates
Google updates lists the most recent announced updates and incidents from the official Google Search Status Dashboard. While an update is in progress, conclusions about declines wait until it ends. Fourteen days after it ends, the card compares clicks and impressions of non-branded queries in the 14 days before it started and the 14 days after it ended. When either window has too little data, the card says so instead.
Good to know The comparison shows a coincidence in time. It is not proof that the update caused the change.
On the Free plan
Free gets a one-time snapshot of Search Console. A banner shows the date of the snapshot, and the data is not updated afterwards. See Billing for plans.
