Keywords

Keep the list of search queries your market uses, see their demand and whether your site has a page for them, and pick the important ones for Rankings.

Keywords overview

Open SEO → Keywords. The list belongs to the selected brand and its market: the country and language come from the brand’s market settings and are shown in the dialogs. Brand queries are listed apart from market queries: switch between Market and Brand.

For each query the table shows its Category, Demand, Search Console impressions, 28 days, Intent, the Site page that ranks or shows for it, and a Conclusion, such as no matching page or the wrong page. Categories are the same ones your prompts use.

New queries get their demand, intent and brand mark a moment after you add them. Click a query to open its page with its position history and the latest Google results stored for it; see Rankings. Members and above can change the list; Viewers see it read-only.

Good to know Demand is a level — high, medium, low — with its source, not a monthly search volume. It comes from impressions of your Search Console queries that contain the query in the last 28 days. No data means there is no evidence yet; it is not the same as low.

How to add queries

  1. Click Add queries.
  2. Type one query per line, or click Import a CSV file to read the first column of a file.
  3. Or switch to From Search Console and market research and pick suggestions: queries your site already shows for and buyer words from the market research that are not in the list yet.
  4. Choose a category and, on paid plans, Also add to Rankings.
  5. Click Add.

Duplicates are skipped, including ones that differ only in letter case, spacing or full-width characters.

How to find queries on a topic

Click Find queries on a topic, enter a product, service or task your buyers search for, and click Find queries. Research collects related searches and «People also ask» questions from Google results, your Search Console queries that contain the topic and terms from the market research, adds up to 80 new queries within your list limit and checks up to 50 of them against Google results. Only one research run per brand runs at a time.

Each run uses one research run of your monthly quota. A run that fails returns it. When the run finishes, the found queries appear in the list. For 24 hours you can remove the whole batch with Undo.

How to organise the list

Filter by Category, Demand or Intent, or search by text. Select rows to add them to Rankings, set their category or delete them in one go. The row menu edits, adds to or removes from Rankings, and deletes a single query.

Editing the wording resets the query’s demand until the next update. Deleting a query also deletes its Rankings history.

How to export the list

Click Export CSV. The file contains the queries of the current filters with demand and its source, Search Console data and the latest position. The top lines state the filters, the source and its limits. Export is available on paid plans; on Free the button opens the plan comparison.

Plan limits

The list size, the monthly research runs and the number of queries in Rankings depend on the plan. On Free you keep up to 50 queries by hand and from Search Console; research and Rankings start with Starter. The list and Rankings limits apply to each brand; research runs are counted for the whole company each month. Your current usage is shown at the top of the screen and in Settings → Usage & Scan schedule. See Billing.
