Tasks
Use Tasks to give work a clear instruction, take responsibility for it and review the submitted result.
Tasks overview
Open Tasks. The board separates Open, In progress, Review result and Done. Work and review have separate owners and controls.
Custom tasks hold work you define. Campaigns also create tasks for their stages and placements; these are the same tasks shown inside the campaign. A custom task linked to a campaign for context does not advance its stage.
Create a task with completion criteria
- Click New task.
- Enter Task name. In Task description, describe what to do, why, the source material and what counts as done.
- Choose Executor. Select People only for work you will perform in the app; People or agents also allows agents.
- Set Reviewer and the independent-review switch. Review can be restricted to people, open to people or agents, restricted to agents, or explicitly skipped.
- Click Create the task. The task receives a
T-number and opens its detail page.
The name is required; the description is the actual instruction. Add enough information for the executor and reviewer to assess the same result. Document changes require Save. On a narrow screen, switch between the description and Work and review.
Find your work and assign responsibility
Use Task source, Executor and Assignment to narrow the board. Assigned to me selects your executor assignment in work and your reviewer assignment during review.
In a task, use the Executor and Reviewer chips to assign eligible members, or leave the responsibility Unassigned. The chip opens a list of eligible team members; longer lists offer search. Choose a person or remove the assignment. Agent assignments and closed tasks display their chip read-only. Assignment does not start work. Active work or review claims prevent reassignment until they are released or expire.
Rules determine who may take a task; assignment selects the responsible person within those rules. With independent review enabled, people who contributed to the submitted work cannot accept their own result. Viewer accounts can read tasks but cannot perform the work controls.
Take work and submit the result
- Open an available task and use Take work. If it is already held by someone else, wait for release or expiry.
- Read the instruction, open the required documents and save your edits.
- In What to check, attach what the reviewer should check: platform documents, files from the library or links to work done elsewhere. Campaign stage documents and documents required by the task are attached automatically. Add any other relevant materials.
- Enter Result with what you did and the evidence to check. If there are no materials, explicitly select Nothing to attach — the result is described in the note; the note is then the result.
- Use Submit result, or Finish work when the task explicitly skips review.
Release work gives up the current claim without completing the work. An expired claim returns open work to the available queue. Skipped review still requires a result note and the required evidence.
For campaign publication tasks, save the live URL with Save publication fact before finishing. See Campaigns for publication order and stage requirements.
Review, accept or request changes
Open a task in Review result. Read the submission’s version, author and result note, then inspect each attached material. Documents refer to their submitted revisions, not whatever the editor shows later.
For a document, use Changes to compare the submitted revision with the version before work began. After rework, the comparison also offers changes since the previous submission. Open library files and external links to inspect their evidence.
Mark each material OK or Redo. Each Redo needs a note in What exactly to redo. Use Accept result when the result meets the instruction; Comment is optional for acceptance. To return it, use Return for rework with at least one Redo and its note, or an overall comment explaining what must change. A return sends the task back to open work.
Submit the verdict directly from the panel; it takes the review claim when needed. Permissions, reviewer assignment and independent-review rules still apply; another participant’s active review can block your verdict.
If submitted documents or context changed, acceptance is blocked: return the result and ask for a new submission. The panel shows the current step, with previous feedback and comparisons where relevant. Use the work log to discuss questions or blockers.
Withdraw a result before the verdict
The executor can use Withdraw result while the result is awaiting a decision and no other participant holds the review. This returns it to work with the same executor so they can make changes and submit a new version. Withdrawal is different from a reviewer’s return for rework.
Keep closed work out of the active board
Done tasks remain visible until archived. Use Archive to move them to Closed. Cancelled tasks can also be archived. Closure and cancellation are different outcomes; cancellation requires a reason and is available for custom tasks rather than a separate way to bypass campaign stages.
Closed work can move to the archive after the configured interval. The closed view preserves the records for reading. Campaign cancellation is handled on the campaign itself.
