Page content analysis
Read what a page is for, how it is written and which AI citations it receives before deciding what to change.
Find page content
Open Site → Pages and select a page. Page content describes its main content. Site audits classify page content automatically; this is separate from the on-demand render and performance measurement. Crawl coverage still depends on your plan.
While the first analysis runs, the card shows a pending state. Fields the analysis cannot determine are omitted. An omitted field does not mean the page lacks that characteristic. Check the audit and citation dates before interpreting the results.
Distinguish type, format and purpose
- Content type is the page’s role in the website: a product, service, blog article, case study, documentation or another type.
- Format is how its text is organised: an article, comparison, list, how-to, FAQ, fact sheet or landing page.
- Purpose describes what the page helps the reader do.
- Funnel stage and Target action describe the buyer stage and the action requested by the page. They do not record a visitor completing that action.
A product page can use a comparison format. A blog post can use the same format and still have a different role. The card also shows an audience, key terms, associated prompt categories and detected blocks when available. These are analysis results to review, not facts certified by the platform.
Read the site content table
Above the page tree, Page categories groups pages by stage, type, format, purpose and target action. It shows page coverage and citations from the latest scan, excluding prompts that name brands. Click a cell to filter the tree to the matching pages; use the filters to refine or clear that selection.
Citations, cited pages and total pages are different counts. An undetermined classification is missing information, not a zero-citation verdict. For the comparison across brands, see Competitors. A competitor’s site inventory requires its own website analysis.
Correct a page type
If the detected type is wrong, use the type chip on a page or a URL section to select the correct type. A page-level choice takes precedence over a section-level choice; manual choices are kept through later audits. Viewers can read the type without changing it. Reset the choice through the chip if you want automatic detection again.
This control changes the page type. It does not let you edit every classification field or directly improve a score.
Turn the findings into work
A Content action can propose a new page, changes to an existing page or external publication. Its evidence and buyer task determine which approach is appropriate. A format found in cited pages is an observed pattern, not a guarantee of future citations.
For checks and scores, continue to Page audit. Content findings and page speed are separate: editorial checks do not contribute to SSPS+, and PERF is the independent performance score.
