Talking with the people who market tech

Over the two days, Igor met a wide range of Japanese IT companies and startups, along with many of the people responsible for their marketing.

A lot of exhibitors were there for the same reason: they want more people to discover what they've built. That's the problem we work on every day, so it was valuable to hear first-hand how these teams approach it and where they get stuck.

Many are looking beyond Japan

What stood out most was how many companies are planning to expand internationally. We kept meeting teams with strong technology and solid products who want to grow in the US, Europe and other markets — and who are still working out how to get noticed there and explain their value to overseas buyers.

What comes next

Supasaito is based in Tokyo and works with companies both in Japan and abroad. Our team is international, with people from different countries and backgrounds, and we work in Japanese, English, Russian and Italian. That means we see the Japanese market and overseas markets through both lenses. That's an advantage we want to put to work.

These conversations made us want to use it to help Japanese startups with the marketing side of going global.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to talk with us. If your team is preparing to launch overseas and wants to talk about your website or marketing, we'd be glad to hear from you.
